We bought this soft house for him last Winter. During day time, he usually lay down in front of our fireplace. But when we go to sleep, we don’t want to keep the fire on so our living room becomes a bit chilly. So I found this wiggly house online. He was a bit hesitant at first. But with a couple of treats, he started going into the house and relax. I planned to store his home away when the weather gets warmer. But he keeps going in from time to time, so I just let him have it. When it’s not cold, he usually lay down close to us. However, when it gets dark, he lifts his melting body and slowly walks into his house. I always wave at him to say goodnight, even though he will come right back out if I walk away for a second.
He likes to touch us. Many dogs are like that, but Dingo is a bit more touchy. One of our house rules with Dingo is he only can be on the couch when we allow him. Whenever one of us goes down on the floor, he hurries to come and lay down between our legs. It’s so hot lately. I barely wear anything in the house. But I always get dog hair pants with his warm body heat. Funny thing is though it never bothers me.
His blue toy is a fairly new one. He had an eggplant dog toy he loved so much, but his love destroyed it too quickly. My husband and I decided to get a more durable toy for him, and we did. Maybe because of its durability or the non-realistic shape, he lost his interest fast. But still, he kindly plays with it when I offer a tug or fetch with it. I wonder if he was dreaming about playing with the toy.
Sometimes I fail to capture Dingo’s particular sleeping pose because he moves quiet bit while sleeping. It could be pretty frustrating but I always try to work with the unexpected hiccups. He moved his head slightly when I was drawing this. So I gave him two faces! :)
